Dubbed a "news service experiment" by its author, geography professor Lauren C. Post, this first San Diego State College Service Men's News Letter or Aztec News Letter, as it came to be called, consists mostly of lists and a directory of men in the military. This issue, and the first several, were mimeographed, with no drawings. The first letters from servicemen were dated in April.
