Jones, Harry E.
Jones writes in response to three V-Mails from John and Jane Adams, including a request for "whistle buttons." Not knowing what they are (a non-flat button with 2 or more holes), he launches into a discussion of army uniforms and customs that he says are "spurlos versenkt" or sunk without trace. They are working very hard processing prisoners of war and hardly noticed VE Day.
