John D. (1853-1926) and Adolph B. Spreckels (1857-1924) donated the Spreckels pipe organ to the City of San Diego in 1914 for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915. Designed by architect Harrison Albright (1866-1932), the organ and pavilion are still used for concerts in 2013. The Exposition was held in San Diego's Balboa Park to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal.
