Ames, Arthur (1906-1975)
Located in the Mother Colony History Room. Three portable panels. One of a female figure in a rural setting, holding a bouquet of flowers, behind her is a house with spanish tiled roof and large foliage. Second panel is of a male farmer figure holding shovel and standing on a bridge above a stream of water, he also stands in front of a house. The figures and poses are reminiscent of the painting "American Gothic". The third panel is an image of a rural landcape showing signs of industrialization. Colors in the three panels are vibrant.
