The Science and Education Building showing the California Building and Tower in the background, during the Panama-California International Exposition of 1915-1916. The Exposition was held in San Diego's Balboa Park to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal. This building was the Palace of Photography for the California-Pacific International Exposition of 1935, the Medical Arts Building for the Exposition of 1936, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Building in 1939 before it was torn down in 1962. The California Building immediately to the right of the California Tower later housed the San Diego Museum of Man.
