Editor: Stevens, Robert
A color aerial photograph of the Montezuma Mesa campus is inset into the cover of this yearbook, from a viewpoint above the Aztec Bowl and parking lot. An editor's note explains that this is the "first picture ever to appear on a Del Sudoeste cover." The yearbook was dedicated to the entire student body, listed on dozens of pages in between other sections of the book, with cartoons with names or nicknames of students. Some are depicted with paddles, others quaking with fear, indicating that hazing of freshmen had returned despite earlier administrative efforts. For the first time, students were awarded Master's degrees. The student body totalled 5,000, with 4,200 of those "regular full-time," and the faculty numbered 220. The campus increased by 38 acres and two buildings, with six more buildings in the works. The graduating class was the largest in the history of the college, shown in several different photographs in the Open Air Theater.
