The "war-time situation" (Korean War) meant somewhat straitened circumstances for student activities, including the "threatened" loss of "most of the able-bodied men on campus" to the military, and a reduced size of the yearbook. On page 207 is a photograph of the commencement of yet another "largest" class in college history, 850, in the Open Air Theater. The annual is dedicated to Charles E. Peterson, Dean of Men, with a portrait and a short biography.
